All Institutions, Political Parties Should Unite For National Interest: PM Modi

New Delhi, October 20: Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Tuesday called upon all institutions and political parties to unite in the national interest, stressing that the country must collectively confront challenges and stand together against forces that threaten its unity and security.
Addressing the Vijayadashami celebrations organised by the Shri Ramlila Committee Indraprastha at IP Extension in New Delhi, Modi said national interest should remain the guiding principle for institutions and political organisations. He emphasised the importance of collective resolve and a united approach in safeguarding the country’s future.
“May our thoughts be aligned, and may all the institutions of the nation, all political parties, stand together for national interest,” the Prime Minister said, urging the country to move forward with a shared commitment to national unity.
Self-Reliance and Collective Responsibility
Highlighting his government’s vision of making India self-reliant, Modi said the country must have confidence in its resources, capabilities and people. He called for transforming national determination into practical action through hard work, innovation and the development of indigenous strengths.
The Prime Minister also stressed that individuals and institutions should not remain passive when confronted with difficult situations. According to him, even major crises can be overcome when people recognise their own capabilities and work towards finding solutions rather than depending entirely on others.
He invoked the teachings of Lord Shri Ram, saying that difficulties should not prevent the country from moving forward. The ideals associated with Lord Ram, he noted, provide inspiration for overcoming challenges with courage, determination and faith.
Lord Ram’s Ideals and Good Governance
Referring to the concept of Ram Rajya, Modi highlighted the importance of justice, equality and public welfare. He said governance should ensure that no individual faces discrimination and that everyone receives justice and equal opportunities.
The Prime Minister underlined that the purpose of power should not simply be to rule, but to serve the people. His remarks placed emphasis on accountable governance, public welfare and the responsibility of institutions to work for the common good.
Dussehra’s Message of Victory Over Evil
Connecting his message with the significance of Vijayadashami, Modi described Dussehra as a festival symbolising the victory of good over evil. He said the festival reinforces the belief that truth and humanity can ultimately prevail, regardless of the strength of the challenges faced.
The celebration, he added, reflects values that have long been central to India’s philosophical traditions and offers an opportunity for people to renew their commitment to righteousness and collective progress.
Modi’s address concluded with a broader appeal for national unity, self-confidence and coordinated efforts across political and institutional boundaries. His message emphasised that India’s development and security require shared responsibility, strong institutions and a commitment to placing the country’s interests above individual considerations.
The Prime Minister’s remarks came during the Vijayadashami festivities in the national capital, where the festival’s cultural and spiritual significance provided the backdrop for his appeal for unity, self-reliance and public service.
